[PINELLAS COUNTY] – A Florida Man leaped into action to save a pet dog from an 8-foot gator last Tuesday.
75-year-old Buddy Ackerman was walking his daughter’s golden retriever Osi behind her condo near a retention pond.
Osi stopped to relieve itself when a gator came out of the pond and latched itself onto its hind leg.
“I just started kicking at the alligator’s snout and after two or three kicks he opened up and let go of the dog,” The Florida Man told Fox 13.
Trappers later came and took a 7-foot gator that they believed attacked Osi, but some neighbors believe that wasn’t the same one as they spotted a larger gator in the pond shortly after. The dog was uninjured. Original Article
